Chemical Equation Presented" Towards the third dimension: A new type of organic-inorganic hybrid comprises two independent molecular layers separated by a metal monolayer and sandwiched between outer electrodes (see picture). The interlayer reveals metallic properties despite its reduced dimensions and the presence of chemical bonds at both sides. It might be useful as an intermediate electrode to control charge transport through molecule-based devices. © 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH &. Co. KGaA."
