摘要：

The existence of two distinct strata forming the bilaminar zone of the temporomandibular joint disc has recently been questioned. We report their successful demonstration using proton-density MR imaging, Our findings confirm earlier anatomical descriptions of the behaviour of the upper stratum during mouth opening.
