摘要
Whole cells of Acetobacter aceti suspended in a buffer solution functions as catalysts to produce a catalytic current for the oxidation of ethanol in the presence of 2-methyl-5,6-dimethoxy benzoquinone (Q0). The theory of catalytic current in the steady-state was successfully applied to analyze the catalytic current, yielding the bimolecular rate constant of the bacterial cell and Q0. The catalytic activity of the bacterial cell can be characterized by the bimolecular rate constant.
