Preparation of low-density carbon aerogels from a cresol/formaldehyde mixture

摘要
Aerogels resulting from the reaction of resorcinol with formaldehyde were studied in great detail and these materials were pyrolyzed in an inert atmosphere to form carbon aerogels. Carbon aerogels are unique conductive aerogels and have high surface area and ultrafine pore size. Furthermore, these materials are quite pure compared to other forms of carbon powders or fibers.
