摘要：

Recombinant human thyroid stimulating hormone (rhTSH) has been developed and approved for diagnostic testing in patients with thyroid cancer. Initial clinical trials have documented its safety; there have been some concerns regarding its sensitivity. Overall, it appears that for most patients with low risk cancers, rhTSH stimulated radioiodine scanning and thyroglobulin determination can be used for cancer detection as an alternative to thyroxine withdrawal testing.
