Mg/Al mixed oxides used as supports for platinum catalysts with Mg/Al molar ratios of 2-6 were obtained by thermal decomposition method. The effects of compositions and catalytic properties were studied by TPD, BET, XRD and TG-DTA techniques. Synthesis of o-phenylphenol (OPP) from Dimer was investigated over Pt/CHT catalysts and compared with Pt/Al2O3. These catalysts showed a conversion of 93.8% and a selectivity of 87.9%.
