Class of exact solutions in 5D gravity and its physical properties

摘要
We derive a class of solutions of the held equations of five-dimensional general relativity that is static and spherically symmetric in ordinary three-dimensional space. In the induced-matter picture, where the extra dimension is responsible for matter in four-dimensional spacetime, the solutions represent centrally condensed clouds with density profiles similar to those of clusters of galaxies. This class of solutions could be used with data on gravitational lensing to look for a fifth dimension.
