摘要：

New materials and cell construction improvements have been the key to advancement of the NiMH battery. Improved separators, although not active components, have an "active role" in contributing to better performance. In this paper we will discuss the basic critical function of the separator as a "recombinant mat" and review the types of separators that are currently used in NiMH cells.
