Surface coordination chemistry:: Dihydrogen versus hydride complexes on RuO2(110)

摘要
Both atomic and molecular hydrogen are found to chemisorb together at the rutilestructure RuO2(110) single crystal surface (depicted) at 85 K. The combination of low-temperature ultrahigh vacuum vibrational spectroscopy in conjunction with DFT calculations provides detailed insight into the coordination chemistry of a solid oxide surface (O: green, Ru: violet).
