摘要
The damping properties of polymers filled with elastic particles is investigated using a self-consistent homogenisation approach, and the elastic-viscoelastic correspondence principle. The energy dissipation mechanism involved inside the system is studied as a function of the relative rigidity of the inclusion with respect to that of the matrix. The variation of the overall stiffness of the system as a function of the elastic properties of the inclusions is related to the distribution of elastic energy, as well as the stress and strain components. This provides a framework to design enhanced damping composite materials, without having to recourse to heavy computational optimisation routines. (C) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
