The effect of F- ions on the electrical properties of poorly crystallized apatite.

摘要
Poorly crystallized apatite was prepared by co-precipitation at room temperature and then treated in an F- rich medium. Characterization by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy indicated that this treatment did not affect the apatitic structure. However, improvements in crystallinity and ionic conductivity were observed following this treatment. The conductivity spectra showed a restructuration of the apatite and a restoration of the order. The implications on the ionic conductivity of dental caries are discussed.
