Electrooptic effect based on helix deformation in homeotropically aligned ferroelectric liquid crystal

摘要
Electrooptic characteristics based on the deformation of a helical structure in a homeotropically aligned ferroelectric liquid crystal have been studied. In the voltage range below the threshold for the disappearance of the helix, no hysteresis was observed in the voltage dependence of the transmission intensity (V-TI) curve. The response time for the electrooptic switching based on the helix deformation does not depend on the temperature except for the temperature range below the transition temperature to a higher order phase.
