摘要
Multicamera systems provide surveillance coverage across a wide area, ensuring object visibility over a large range of depths. With the increasing use of these systems, techniques that address handover between cameras are becoming more important than ever. In the development of advanced visual-based surveillance systems, there are key issues that need consideration to ensure successful operation. An overview is given of low-level image and video processing techniques needed to implement a modern visual-based surveillance system. Specifically, change detection methods for both fixed and mobile cameras are introduced and the registration methods for multicamera systems with overlapping and nonoverlapping views outlined.
