A systematic review of the clinical trials in osteoarthritis registered on the public website of the Clinical Trials Data Bank at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has been performed. Such a review should cover the majority of the ongoing or forthcoming trials in the disease. This review focusses on trials designed to test safety and/or efficacy of targeted therapies in osteoarthritis. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
