摘要
An electrorheological (ER) fluid is a suspension of polarizable solid particles dispersed in a non-conducting liquid, exhibiting drastic and reversible change in rheological properties when an electric field is applied. In poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) treated with anhydrous ferric chloride the magnitude of ER effect increases with dielectric constant. The viscosity and shear stress were found to be increased with increasing electric field and doping degree.
