摘要
Objective: Differentially expressed genes are potential prognostic factors in human breast cancer. cDNA-array hybridization permits rapids simultaneous analysis of differentially expressed genes. Methods: We studied the mRNA expression of 588 genes with cDNA-array analysis in 16 primary breast carcinomas (T1-4, N0-1, M0-1). Results: Approximately 1.5% of the analyzed genes showed significant differences in expression. Differentially expressed genes included c-erbB2 (HER2/neu), metalloproteinases, and newly identified transcripts. The expression of most genes did not seen to be altered significantly. Conclusion: The cDNA-array hybridization technique is a powerful tool to identify differentially expressed genes in breast cancers. These gene profiles will be studied for their prognostic significance.
