Using the hydrothermal method two novel 3D-coordination complexes [Ln(H2O)(3)Re6Te8(CN)(6)].nH(2)O (Ln = La3+, Nd3+) have been synthesised and structurally characterised. For compound [La(H2O)(3)Re6Te8(CN)(6)].4H(2)O (1) the unit cell parameters are: Space group P6(3)/M, a = 9.3060(13), c 20.528(4) Angstrom, V = 1539.6(4) Angstrom(3), R-f = 0.0597. For compound [Nd(H2O)(3)Re6Te8(CN)(6)].H2O (2) the unit cell parameters are: Space group P6(3)/m, a = 9.3030(10), c = 20.222(4) A, V = 1515.7(4) Angstrom(3), R-f = 0.0226. The structures of the cluster compounds are topologically analogous to the mononuclear polymeric complex LaCr(CN)(6).5H(2)O.
