Analysis of the efficiency of concave diffraction gratings in the scalar approximation

摘要
Analytical expressions are obtained in the scalar approximation for the efficiency of echelette-type concave diffraction gratings. A comparison is made with the results of the rigorous electromagnetic theory, with the concave grating being represented as a sum of flat elementary gratings. It is shown that the scalar method can be used for calculations of concave diffraction gratings in nonparallel beams. (C) 2002 Optical Society of America.
