Piezoelectric properties of new PZT-PMWSN ceramic

A great deal of attention has been focused on the applications of piezoelectric ceramic such as actuators or transformers. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of new piezoelectric 0.96Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)-0.04Pb(Mn0.32W0.26Sb0.16Nb0.16)O-3 (PZT-PMWSN) have been investigated on different calcination (700-850degrees) and sintering (1050degreesCsimilar to1250degrees) temperatures. The perovskitic phase was formed by the solid phase reaction of the oxides. Anisotropic (k(l)/k(p)) properties of electromechanical coupling coefficient and piezoelectric coefficient have been proven to be depending on processing temperatures. The optimum values of electromechanical coupling factor of k(p) and a mechanical quality factor of Q(m) were 0.56 and 2253 at calcination of 750degreesC and sintering of 1100degreesC temperature, respectively.
