摘要
Modern cooking fuels can provide significant health, productivity, and environmental benefits. Yet spontaneous fuel switching does not occur to the extent often hoped. This paper discusses the determinants of household fuel use and fuel switching, using comparable household survey data from Brazil, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Nepal, Nicaragua, South Africa, and Vietnam. An interesting finding to emerge is a strong link between electrification and uptake of modern cooking fuels. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
