摘要：

The development of Web services technologies as the foundation of a new generation of business-to-business (B2B) and enterprise application integration (EAI) architectures are discussed. Web services can glue together applications running on two different messaging product platforms, enable database information from one application to be made available to others. The broad use of Web services requires the technologies to be specified, standardized, realized in language bindings, and supported by interoperable products. It is suggested that if new software investments, support the use of Web services across multiple operating system platforms, disruption to environments will be minimized in order to gain the benefits of Web services technologies.
