The role of the interfacial strength in glass bead filled HDPE

摘要
In situ tensile tests were carried out under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to determine the interfacial strength in glass bead-filled high density polyethylene (HDPE). The critical external stress at the moment of interfacial debonding was measured, and the interfacial bonding strength was estimated. Results showed that good interfacial adhesion could increase the tensile strength of composite materials compared to pure matrix materials.
