摘要
This article provides a review of how child development can be used to enhance interactions and physical examinations in the pediatric age group. Attention to the patient's stages of affective, physical, and cognitive development guides decisions about what to examine most closely, how to proceed, and what findings to expect. This approach can improve efficiency, maximize accuracy, and enhance the potential for positive and productive communication between clinician, parent, and pediatric patient.
