Hall effect in the quadrupolar Kondo ground state

摘要
We present a systematic experimental study of the Hall effect in a heavy fermion system with a non-Fermi-liquid ground state. U0.9Th0.1Be13 displays a ground state which is consistent with predictions of the quadrupolar Kondo effect (QKE). We have observed in this material a drastic reduction of the Hall coefficient in the QKE state. In the small field limit the Hall effect is found to be strongly field dependent, an opposite behavior to previous observations in conventional Kondo lattices.
