Rethinking health and human rights: Tune for a paradigm shift

Medicine and its allied health sciences have for too long been peripherally involved in work on human rights. The goal of this article is to raise and attempt to answer some questions relevant to health and human rights; to explore the promise of what the authors term "pragmatic solidarity" as a response to structural violence; and to identify promising directions for future work in health and human rights.
