In the title compound, (C14H13N2)[V(C7H3NO4)O-2] center dot H2O, the V V atom has a distorted trigonal - bipyramidal coordination environment formed by one pyridyl N atom and two O atoms of the [VO2](+) group occupying the equatorial plane, and two carboxylate O atoms occupying the axial positions. O - H center dot center dot center dot O, N - H center dot center dot center dot O, O - H center dot center dot center dot N and C - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, together with pi - pi stacking interactions [average centroid- tocentroid distance 3.644 ( 12) angstrom], seem to be effective in the stabilization of the crystal structure, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.
