Revised and extended analysis of eight-times ionized barium: BaIX and nine-times ionized barium: Ba X

The spectra of barium were recorded in the 100 Angstrom-1250 Angstrom region on a variety of normal and grazing incidence spectrographs. The sources used were conventional triggered sparks and laser produced plasma. Eight-times and nine-times ionized barium spectra (Ba IX and Ba X) were investigated. In the Ba IX spectrum fifty-four levels were established out of which thirty-eight levels are new. One hundred and ten lines have been classified of which 88 lines are new. Relativistic Hartree Fock (HFR) and least-squares-fitted (LSF) calculations were carried out to interpret the spectrum satisfactorily. In Ba X spectra twenty eight levels have been established out of which ten are new levels. Thirty one lines are now classified in Ba X out of which eight lines are new.
