Multipass titanium: sapphire amplifier for terawatt laser systems

摘要
An investigation was made of an eight-pass amplifier based on titanium-doped sapphire, pumped by the second harmonic of a YAG laser and intended for tera-watt femtosecond laser systems. The gain reached 2 x 10(7) for a pump energy density of 3.2 J cm(-2).
