Removal of palladium nanoparticles from polymer materials

摘要
The removal of contaminant palladium nanoparticles from polymer materials was discussed. The possibility of a quantitative detemination of the palladium nanoparticle /catalyst at the 1 ppb (w/w) level using UV-vis spectrophotometry was also analyzed. The polymers prepared for the analysis included poly(phenylenevinylene) (PPV), poly(phenyeneethynylene)s (PPE), and poly(alkylthiophene) (PAT). It was observed that the palladium contents depended on the amount of catalyst used in the analysis.
