Improvement of the focusing quality by parametric phase conjugation of ultrasonic beams in a ferrite cylinder with grooved working surface

摘要
Results of direct measurements of the acoustic pressure distribution in a phase-conjugate ultrasonic beam in the focus of a converging lens are presented for two types of parametric phase-conjugating elements, namely, with flat and grooved working surfaces. It is demonstrated that grooving noticeably improves the quality of focusing of an ultrasonic beam generated in water by a solid phase-conjugating element. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
