摘要
Bathed in light, the acyclic receptor 1 that binds a neutral guest molecule through hydrogen bonding (1-2) undergoes an intramolecular anthracene photodimerization reaction to yield a macrocyclic structure. The dramatic change in the structure of 1 from open to cyclic affects the binding properties of the receptor sites and leads to the exclusion of the guest molecule. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
