Optical spectroscopy on Se-8 clusters and Se chains embedded in zeolite matrices

摘要
Incorporation of Se into the supercages of zeolite Y leads to formation of Se-8 rings and distorted Se chains with a ratio which is dictated by the nature of the zeolitic counter cations. Both rings and chains give rise to characteristic Raman and UV/vis absorption bands. In particular low frequency Raman bands are attributed to phonon localization in ordered segments of distorted chains.
