摘要
The results of an ethnographic investigation of blogging in a sample of ordinary bloggers are discussed. An investigation of blogging as a form of personal communication and expression uncovering the range of motivations driving individuals to maintain blogs was also made. 23 people were interviewed which included 16 men and 7 women, all living in California or New York and were well educated. Pseudonyms were used while discussing specific informants and the permission for all quotes and images were obtained. Five major motivations for blogging were discovered which included documenting one's life; providing commentary and opinions, and expressing deeply felt emotions.
