摘要
Aluminum-ion hydrolysis and separation were studied at high temperature for preparation of large aluminum polycations. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy was used for the study. It was observed that upon prolonged hydrolysis of Al-ion solutions at high temperature, a large portion of Al 13-mers slowly converted into Al30-mers, while a minor part probably broke down to form Al monomers. The Al30-mer appeared to be the most stable transient Al species in the range of pH ∼ 4-6, with the Al13 polycation practically completely disappearing from analyzed solutions after ca. 12h.
