Beaded bimetallic nanowires: Wiring nanoparticles of metal 1 using nanowires of metal 2

摘要：

Metal nanoparticle/metal nanowire bimetallic systems were prepared by growing nanowires along an axis connecting a series of nanoparticles aligned at the step edge of a graphite surface. It was found that the diameter of the metal particles and that of the nanowire can be independently specified during growth. Adjustibility of the particle diameter and location along the nanowire can not be achieved.
