摘要
Bioceramic based on calcium phosphates has attracted the interest of researchers from bioengineering area, because of its high biocompatibility and similarity in structure with natural bone. Nowadays there are variety of applications of calcium phosphate ceramics in the field of medicine, e.g. as a drug delivery material, in orthopaedic surgery, in dentistry and etc. In our laboratory we have developed - a novel bioceramic, synthesized using sol-gel method, which has many advantages in comparison with some other bone grafting materials. We tested in a pig animal model, mono- and biphasic calcium phosphate ceramic for a period of 8 months at different bony sites: shin bone and jaw bone. The histological studies have shown a very good biodegradation, fast resorption and new bone formation at the place where the ceramics were inserted.
