Continuous-wave light source at 317 nm based on frequency doubling of a diode laser

摘要
Continuous-wave ultraviolet radiation has been generated by frequency doubling the output of a 15-mW, 634-nm diode laser with a rubidium dihydrogen phosphate (RDP) crystal inside an external resonant cavity. Single-frequency operation (2 MHz linewidth) of the diode laser is obtained by employing weak optical feedback from a microlens. By using the resonant cavity, a power buildup factor of 60 is achieved and up to 30 mu W of tunable ultraviolet radiation around the wavelength of 317 nm has been produced.
