摘要
Large size (9.0 x 6.0 x 1.0 mm) transparent single crystals of calcium oxalate monohydrate (CaC2O4 . H2O), which were suitable for hardness studies have been frown by a double diffusion technique. The crystallization conditions to obtain bigger crystals have been optimized. The crystals grown were characterized by XRD, FTIR, TGA/DTG and microhardness. Vickers microhardness increased with an increase in load and could withstand up to a load of 200 g, revealing the high hardness nature of the calcium oxalate monohydrate crystals.
