Theoretical evaluation of cooperative luminescence rate in Yb3+:CsCdBr3 and comparison with experiment

摘要
Ytterbium-doped CsCdBr3 exhibits a strong cooperative luminescence under near-infrared excitation. The pair structure of this compound allows us to compare easily experimental and theoretical cooperative rate constants. Electrostatic, magnetic and exchange interactions as well as two types of pairs are considered. Computed values result in a cooperative rate constant of 2.2 x 10(-2) s(-1) in reasonable agreement with the experimental value. 0.13 s(-1).
