摘要
Smart clothing has been proposed as a form of 'existential media', which defines new forms of social interaction through enhanced abilities for self expression and self-actualization, as well as through self-determination. Smart clothing contributes to the wearer's eudemonic space which defines a boundary around the user, providing both privacy and self-expression. There are several criteria for computing technology which moves towards the goal of self-determination and enhanced creative potential. The existential computer, which exists entirely within the eudemonic space of the user, is owned, operated, and controlled by the wearer, in order to prevent it from becoming a means of controlling the wearer. 'WearCam' is a simple apparatus for effortless capture, display, processing, and transmission of visual imagery. Long term use of WearCam gave rise to a heightened sense of awareness of light and shade; by living in a 'mediated reality' environment. A creative and expressive application of WearCam is in personal documentary.
