Project TALENT tests are not ideal measures of rote or immediate memory ability, but are sufficiently reliable and valid to constitute an adequate test of the theory with the Ns available. Use of the pseudo-orthogonal design, is a serious error. The occasional use of extreme groups defined by correlated variables can be defended only if sufficient information is available to provide accurate interpretation. Additional data used by A. R. Jensen (see 44:3) in his reply are inapplicable to the theory. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved). © 1969 American Psychological Association.
