SOLITONS IN A CONVECTIVE MOTION OF A LOW-BETA PLASMA

摘要
In the present paper it is shown that solitons are formed and propagate in a convective motion of a low-β plasma in the presence of a weak static electric field normal to an applied magnetic field. The theory is based on a model equation of Hasegawa and Mima and also on the two-dimensional ion-fluid equation with a Boltzmann distribution from which the model equation is derived, both of which are reduced to the Korteweg-de Vries equation. © 1979, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN.
