摘要
A phase transition has been detected in TF//3 (T equals Ti, V, Cr, Fe, Ga) compounds by calorimetric, X-ray diffraction and optical measurements. The structural relation between low and high-temperature phases has made it possible to predict this transition to be a ferroelastic-prototype one. The observation of ferroelastic domains and their disappearance above the Curie temperature have been in good agreement with this assumption. The spontaneous strain and the Curie temperature can be correlated with the size of the T**3** plus cations.
