摘要
Analytical studies and numerical simulations of the magnetic mirror instability suggest that there may be distinctive differences between ion distributions observed in regions of different field strength. We report AMPTE-UKS observations of ion distributions associated with magnetosheath mirror waves and examine the distributions for evidence of the predicted features.
