摘要
The kinetics of intergranular hydrogen embrittlement of nickel due to hydrogen supplied at the external surface have not been previously determined. While it is known that intergranular embrittlement results from high hydrogen concentrations at grain boundaries, it is not known how this hydrogen arrives at interior grain boundaries when it is supplied at the surface. In particular, the relative roles of lattice diffusion, grain boundary diffusion, and dislocation transport have not been established. This question is addressed in the present note.
