TIME-RESOLVED MEASUREMENTS OF THE ELECTRODEPOSITION OF THALLIUM ON SILVER ELECTRODES BY OPTICAL 2ND-HARMONIC GENERATION

摘要
The mechanism of the electrodeposition of thallium on a polycrystalline silver electrode surface has been examined by optical second-harmonic generation (SHG). Following the application of a fast potential step, a mode-locked picosecond Nd: YAG laser has been used as a continuous probe of the sequential deposition steps in this underpotential deposition process. The SH measurements are complemented with the simultaneously measured current transients. The data are analyzed in terms of both empirical and nucleation models as well as Langmuir adsorption kinetics. © 1990.
