摘要
The hydriding and dehydriding properties of some multi-component rare earth-Mg alloys La2-xMxMg16Ni (M = Ca or Zr, x = 0.05 - 0.2) were studied. It is found that partial substitution of Ca or Zr for La leads to a noticeable increase in hydrogen absorption capacities. These alloys also demonstrate improved hydriding and dehydriding kinetics. La2Mg18Ni and its substitution alloys have much better hydriding kinetics, especially for temperature below 200-degrees-C. Its mechanism is analyzed on the basis of surface analysis.
