PERTURBATION ANALYSIS OF NONUNIFORM ALMOST-PERIODIC BRAGG REFLECTORS

摘要
A perturbation technique is used in an analysis of periodic structures that vary spatially in coupling strength, period, and gain or loss. The analysis determines their response as Bragg reflectors or as optical filters. Antisymmetric variations in coupling and/or periodicity are shown to have negligible effect on response to first order when there is neither gain or loss.
