摘要：

Growth models can explain differences in growth patterns and time of onset of puberty in elephant seal populations at Macquarie Island and Falklands Islands. Elephant seals at Macquarie Island are permanently stunted - possibly because of retarded growth during the suckling period. © 1968 Nature Publishing Group.
