摘要
Harmonics in the first formant region of a continuum of vowels varying in first formant frequency between /I/ and /e/ were boosted by either 6 or 12 db. A significant shift in the F1 boundary was found not only when two harmonics closest to the formant peak were boosted, but also when more remote harmonics were boosted. Weighting-functions for estimating F1 should use more information than simply the amplitude of the two most intense harmonics.
